The University of Ghana’s College of Humanities has recently established the Adu Boahen Memorial Library and Archive (ADMLA) within the Department of History.
The ADMLA is searching for a highly flexible individual to serve as the ADMLA Manager through a two-year contract. If interested and qualified, apply now to join this exciting new facility.
The ADMLA is home to the personal papers and books of Professor Adu Boahen and the Department of History collections. The ADMLA serves as a reference-only library and archive.
Qualification Required and Experience
The applicant must:
- Possess a master’s degree in information studies with Archival option or a master’s degree in Archival Studies or a master’s degree in administration.
- Must show evidence of having worked in an archive for at least two years.
Required Knowledge, Ability, and Skills include:
- Knowledge of Information Technology
- Knowledge in Management of MS Office Suite
- Possession of Good Interpersonal Relationships
- Ability to be a Team Player
Responsibilities/Roles/Duties
The applicant would be required to:
- Plan activities following the set objectives of the ADMLA
- Initiate and implement programmes, including Adu Boahen Memorial Lectures
- Develop the strategic vision and manage the facility within the framework of the University.
- Network with other Africana Libraries within the Subregion and around the Globe.
- Liaise with the Department of History and other stakeholders.
