The Ghana National Association of Teachers is seeking applications for a crucial role, Assistant Secretary II (District Secretary), which plays a significant part in their operations.
A. Qualification
Applicants:
- must have a minimum of first degree from a recognised university,
- must be a committed member who believes in what GNAT stands for,
- must be a GNAT member in good standing,
- must be a professional teacher not below the rank of principal superintendent with no less than four years of working experience in the bank,
- must not be below 35 and not more than 45 years,
- and must have a working knowledge of basic computer applications in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is an added advantage.
B. Job Description
- Recruit and mobilise members for the association in the district.
- Manages and administers the District Secretariat.
- Facilitate professional and trade union education among members in the district.
- Mobilises members for non-bargaining activities.
- Offer technical advice to the District Officers, Executives and Council
- Handle personal cases of teachers.
- Liaise with government and non-government organisations in the district.
- Write termly and annual report to headquarters through the region.
- Collate and analyse education statistics in the district.
- Keep records of minutes of meetings of district political organs of GNAT.
